1. General Policy
Minicourses Madison Library strives to provide valuable educational experiences. We understand that circumstances change, and we've developed this refund policy to be fair to both participants and our organization.
2. Full Refund Eligibility
You are eligible for a full refund if:
- You cancel 7 or more days before the course start date
- We cancel a course for any reason
- We make significant changes to course content, schedule, or instructor
- Circumstances beyond your control prevent attendance (illness, family emergency, etc.)
3. Partial Refund Policy
For weekly series courses only:
- Cancellation 3-6 days before start: 50% refund
- Cancellation after first session: Prorated refund for remaining sessions
4. No Refund Situations
No refunds will be issued for:
- Cancellation less than 3 days before course start
- No-shows without prior notification
- Personal dissatisfaction with course content (all course descriptions are provided before registration)
- Voluntary withdrawal after 50% of course completion
5. Course Cancellations by Us
If we must cancel a course due to low enrollment, instructor unavailability, or other reasons:
- You will receive a full refund within 7 business days
- We will notify you as soon as possible, typically at least 5 days before start
- You may opt to apply your payment to a different course instead of receiving a refund
6. Processing Time
Approved refunds are processed within 7-10 business days. The time for funds to appear in your account depends on your financial institution, typically 3-5 additional business days.
7. Transfer Policy
As an alternative to refunds, you may:
- Transfer registration to another person (notify us at least 3 days before start)
- Move your registration to a different course session (subject to availability)
- Receive course credit for future use (credit valid for 1 year)

- We will confirm receipt and notify you of approval or denial within 2 business days
- If approved, refund will be processed to original payment method
9. Special Circumstances
We understand that extraordinary circumstances arise. If you face situations not covered by this policy (medical emergencies, military deployment, etc.), please contact us. We will review each case individually and work to find a fair resolution.

Our courses are noncredit educational experiences for personal enrichment only. Refund requests based on lack of career advancement, job prospects, or professional credentials will be denied, as these outcomes are never promised or guaranteed.

We reserve the right to modify this refund policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. The policy in effect at the time of your registration applies to your enrollment.
